KAREN BYROM will talk about her life as fiction editor on My Weekly magazine and give tips on writing short stories.
She has been a journalist for more than 30 years, working on various publications, including The People’s Friend, Annabel and My Weekly. Karen, who has an MA in Latin and Ancient History, has been a puzzle editor, health editor and gardening editor. However, her first abiding love is fiction and working with freelance writers to deliver the very best short stories and serials to her readers. Karen has had several short stories of her own published and is an aspiring writer in the Young Adult genre.
Based in Dundee, where she lives with her husband Jim, Karen likes to travel and meet writers and is delighted to be part of the Festival this year. She will also be taking part in the ‘How To Get Published’ workshop on Sunday.
This event includes tea and cake.
